Worcester's Centrum Centre Renamed

By Bill Miller

A 10-year, $5.2 million agreement will change the name of Worcester's Centrum Centre to the DCU Center in honor of Digital Federal Credit Union.

Perhaps the most notable aspect of the arrangement is that published reports indicate that $4.8 million of the overall payments will be made upfront. In addition, the financial institution will pay to install the signage and kiosk as part of the deal.

The facility serves as the home for the American Hockey League's Worcester Ice Cats. It is the 19th announced naming rights agreement for a major league or minor league professional sports facility in 2004.
